Jersey Drinks Producers
From some of the oldest companies in Jersey to a group of new pioneers making a range of artisan spirits, Jersey has a wide range of drinks businesses including tea farms, breweries, and a vineyard. Customers can make bespoke gins, or try rum flavoured with seaweed foraged from the beaches, vodka made from Jersey Royal potatoes or the island’s milk. If you like beer you can sample local brews across the island. Should you prefer something a little less potent you can brew up some of the locally grown tea or a freshly roasted coffee.
| The Jersey Tea Company | Founded by two couples working in health and finance in Jersey, the Jersey Tea Company aims to produce locally grown tea following the principles of regenerative farming, using no chemical pesticides or fertilisers, planting pollinator patches and rewilding areas, and trying to be as sustainable as possible via traditional methods. | Jersey Fine Tea | Seeking to diversify their farm and rest the land from potato production the owners of Jersey Fine Tea planted six acres of tea following the principles of conservation and biodiversity. They now produce whole-leaf green, white, and black tea and have been featured in local and national media in the UK. Website |
| Coopers Coffee | Coopers is one of the oldest locally owned Jersey companies and roasts and blends coffee for their shops and cafes, and for a large number of other catering businesses on the island. They offer Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance certified products where possible and have strong relationships with suppliers around the world. Website |
| La Robeline | La Robeline produces bottle-conditioned cider using apples from nearly thirty orchards on the island, distils a version of Eau de Vie and produces a barrel-conditioned spirit similar to Calvados called L’Esprit D’Jèrri. At La Vert Rue, Richard and Sarah Matlock, run a busy restaurant serving rustic-style French cooking and they also run an outdoor catering business with a distinctive boat-shaped kitchen. Website |
| Liberation Brewery | Brewing beer in beer for over 150 years the company started as the Ann Street Brewery and now owns a large number of bars and restaurants in Jersey and neighbouring Guernsey. The brewery produces its award-winning flagship Liberation ale, an IPA, pale ale and lager and a range of small-batch seasonal beers. Website |
| Stinky Bay Brewing Co. | Named after a rugged bay on the north-western tip of the island, today Stinky Bay can brew 800 litres of beer a day, that’s well over sixteen hundred pints, and their range includes a craft lager, a pale ale, and a New England style IPA. Website |
| La Mare Vineyard | Based at a traditional Jersey farm, towards the north of the island, La Mare operates Jersey’s only vineyard, in addition, they produce cider, a range of spirits and liqueurs, homemade preserves including the island’s famous black butter and handcrafted confectionary. The estate also operates a catering business catering for weddings and corporate events. | The Jersey Cow Distillery | Created by a passionate island-based mixologist using locally produced milk and cream from Jersey cows the Jersey Cow Distillery produces a vodka and a gin. Website |
| Royal Mash Vintage Vodka | Royal Mash has been created by two Jersey locals with a passion for fine food and drinks; Rachel de Caen, a trained chef, and Peter Le Fol du Taillis. Using oversize Jersey Royals which would otherwise go to waste Royal Mash creates a sustainable vintage vodka hand-crafted in bespoke 200-litre copper stills. Website |
| Sea Level Eco Distillery | Based in Gory, Sarah Gaudion, Jersey’s first female distiller, makes award-winning, small-batch, hand-crafted gins and limoncello using locally grown botanicals such as coriander and fennel seeds, and limes and lemons from her garden. The bottles are 100% recycled glass and Sarah endeavours to reuse and recycle as much as possible to ensure the business is environmentally friendly. Website |
| La Cote Distillery | La Cote Distillery in the heart of St. Helier, is the most southerly grain-to-glass distillery in the British Isles, making gin and vodka using local products where possible, including botanicals grown on the roof. | The Channel Islands Liquor Co. | Founded by Guernsey hotelier Luke Wheadon, the Channel Islands Liquor Co. distils the eponymous Wheadon’s Gin, a vodka, and Indica and Indica Spiced rum from their South Pier harbourside distillery. | The Tidal Rum | Created by locally born founder Harry Coulthard the subtle truffle flavour in Tidal Rum is from the Pepper Dulce seaweed foraged on the island. Produced by the Shorts Boy Distillery Tidal rum from a blend of cask-aged rums from Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and the Dominican Republic is now available in bars around the world. Website |
